2015-16

Construction work of Trust"s college is progressing at Tarhasi though gets bogged down due to funds constraint. On 10th April, 2015 college organized Parents-Teachers Meet which was well appreciated.

Between April to July, Indoor Games competition and Volley Ball Matches were also organized.

On 8th December, 2015 Trustees of IBS Foundation visited the college premises and reviewed the teaching and developmental programme. It was emphasized that college should, without compromising on studies, also organize more and more developmental work in the area.

Launching of “Manbodh” – on 5th March, 2015

The father of the Trustees, late Shri Brajdeo Sahai had, during his post-retirement period, transliterated a “KAITHI” manuscript found in his ancestral properties, into “DEONAGRI” which after his departure to heavenly abode, the Trustees got it printed in a book as named by him “Manbodh”. This book was formally released at a small function at Daltonganj in the presence of academicians, local dignitaries and others in which most of the trustees were also present. Later this book was dispatched to many colleges, Institutions, scholars and others in the country.

Registration of Land:- 18th December, 2015

As per the State Government need and decision of the board of IBS Foundation, 5.30 acres of land in the name of Indrani Brajdeo Sahay Foundation was registered in the name of and transferred to Hon’ble Governor of Jharkhand State.

Shri Pramod Kumar Singh, Circle Inspector, Tarhasi received the land in the name of Hon’ble Governor, Jharkhand and Dr. P.K. Verma, Secretary, IBS Foundation signed the registration deed on behalf of the Foundation.

2014-15
Miscellaneous Activities:-

The Foundation, through its college at Tarhassi, organized many activities during the year synchronizing those with national/state programmes like:-

  1. - World Health Day on 7th April, 2014
  2. - Literacy Programme for child labour by volunteers of the College on 31st May, 2014
  3. - World Environment Day on 5th June, 2014
  4. - Plantation work organized in the college campus under afforestation programme on 31st July, 2014
  5. - Independence Day on 15th August, 2014
  6. - Cleanliness drive by Students on 22nd October, 2014

College Establishment Day: 1st March, 2015

Shri Vinod Kumar Sahay, Vice Chairman, IBS Foundation joined to participate in celebration of College Foundation day etc. at Tarhasi where Dr. Kamalkant Mishra, Hon’ble Member, Senat & Syndicate, N.P. University, Medininagar was invited as Chief Guest with Dr. J.G.D. Dubey, Principal, GCA College, Medininagar and Dr. Kailash Oraon, University Representative in the College Governing Body were Guest of Honour.

Scholarships:-

On this occasion, again this year, three usual scholarships of the Foundation of Rs. 6000/- each were awarded to under noted toppers of 2014 matric examination in school of Tarhassi Block:-

  1. Brajdeo Sahay Memorial Fellowship- Shri Pranjal Kumar, S/o Shri Ram Pd. Singh
  2. Indrani Sahay Memorial Fellowship- Ms. Suruchi Kumar, D/o Shri Vijay Kumar Soni.
  3. Indrani Brajdeo Sahay Memorial Fellowship- Ms. Meena Kumari, D/o Shri Sandeep Singh
Kamal Indrani Brajdeo Sahay Fellowship:-

Shri Vinod Sahay, Vice Chairman, announced that as declared by Dr. K.K. Sahay, Chairman, IBS Foundation last year on the occasion of laying down of foundation stone of new building, one topper boy and girl student of each graduating batch of the college is to be awarded with a fellowship of Rs. 7500/- each from his personal resources on behalf of the Foundation.He has provided the fund for the same and accordingly, under noted students of Session 2011-2014 of the college were chosen and were given the fellowships:-

2013-14
Foundation for new building of SSMSD College:-

Between April, 2013 to November, 2013 Trustees, Shri Sunil Kumar Sahay, Shri Sudhir Kumar Sahay and Dr. P.K. Verma kept visiting our Head office at Daltonganj and main campus Tarhasi to oversee matters related to proposed college building and running of Trust’s school.

During this period college celebrated world Health Day, Tobacco Day etc. Independence Day was organized with full zest on 15th August in which, teachers, students and villagers participated.

16th December, 2013 became a landmark day in IBS Foundation’s history. Almost all Trustees assembled in proposed building site of Sukhdeo Sahay Madeshwar Sahay Degree College at Tarhasi with thousands of villagers, authorities of Palamu District and Nilambar Pitambar University, Hon’ble Governor of Jharkhand, Shri Syed Ahmed landed by helicopter and came with other dignitaries to lay the foundation stone of new building for that college in the land donated by Trust. He was received by Dr. K.K. Sahay, Chairman, Shri Subodh Kant Sahai, Patron and others. Some of the honorable guests who graced and blessed the function were Shri Bidesh Singh, Hon’ble MLA, Panki, Shri Manoj Kumar, IAS, Dy. Commissioner, Palamu, Shri N.K. Singh, IPS, SP, Palamau, Shri N.K. Mishra, Hon’ble V.C., Nilambar Pitamber University, Shri A.N. Ojha, Pro-VC, NPU, Dr. Amar Singh, Registrar, NPU, Dr. A.K. Vaidya, FO, NPU and Dr. R.P. Singh DSW, NPU. The Foundation stone was laid with full rituals. The Hon’ble Governor lauded the work and efforts of IBS Foundation and urged people in general and girls in particular to make use of teaching facilities provided by the Trust.

The Hon’ble Governor honoured some freedom fighters of the area, distributed blankets to poor citizens, school dress/sweater were given to students of Sarojini Sahay Bal Vidyalaya, Tarhasi.

Trust’s scholarship of Rs. 6000/- each were awarded to undernoted matric students toppers of the area in 2013:-

  1. Shri Manish Kumar Gupta of R.K. High School, Tarhasi- 81% Marks
  2. Ms. Archana Kumari, High School, Sonpura, Tikula- 82% Marks
Fellowships:-

The Foundation also decided to start two new scholarships each of Rs. 7500/-to College topper boy and girl student after final examination conducted by N.P. University for session 2010-2013 which also was the first graduate (BA) batch of SSMSDC. The Hon’ble Governor awarded the cheques to :-

  1. Mr. Ravi Kant- Political Science (Hons.)
  2. Ms. Anita Kumari- Home Science (Hons.) University Topper

Simultaneously, Dr. Sahay, Chairman declared that from next graduating batch, these two scholarships will be funded by him personally and is to be named as “Kamal Indrani Brajdeo Sahay Scholarship”

Dr. P.K. Verma, Secretary, IBSF compered the programme.

College establishment day was celebrated on 1.3.2014 in which teachers were honoured. Dr. A.K. Vaidya, Finance Officer, NP University was the Chief Guest and Dr. Harihar Singh, Head (Retd.) Hindi Deptt. of same University was Guest of Honour.

2012-13
SSMSD College

IBS Foundation has been, due to obvious reasons, concentrating its commitments and activities mostly around its college, Sukhdeo Sahay Madheshwar Sahay Degree College at Tarhasi, our ancestral village. This being a major project of the Foundation, has been the focus of our Trust.

Under the guidance of Trustee, Sri Sunil Kumar Sahay and led by the college Principal Shri Tiwary an inter College Volley Ball match was organized at College in July 2012. Jyoti Prakash Mahila B.Ed. College, Medininagar, Palamu were kind enough to sponsor prizes for the tournament and were awarded by Dr. R.K.Sinha, Public Information Officer, Nilambar Pitambar University and Shri Madan Gopal Mishra, Vice President of the College Governing Body.

Scholarships:-

However, due to some unavoidable circumstances no scholarship of IBS Foundation could be awarded for year 2012. This has happened for the first time and Foundation would try to continue it without break in future.

2011-12
SSMDS College:-

The Foundation’s sponsored college at Tarhasi has been regularly doing activities like organizing world Health Day, Tobacco prohibition day etc.

On 2nd August, 2011 Van Mahotsav was started by planting saplings in the college campus.

Same year on Gandhi-Shastri Jayanti Day i.e. 2nd October, at a function Dr. R.K. Singh, Public Information Officer of Nilambar Pitambar University, Medininagar graced the celebration and spoke about them.

Scholarships:-

IBS Foundation Continued with its committed educational scholarships which were distributed with college establishment day functions on 2nd March, 2012 at Tarhassi College campus.

Two under noted scholarships of Rs. 6000/- each were awarded to topper of 2011 matric examination of Tarhassi Block.

  2. Indrani Sahay Memorial Fellowship- Ms. Mamta Kumari
2010-11
Trust’s College

On 16th June, 2010 Dr. K.K. Sahay, Chairman, IBS Foundation assembled at Tarhassi with other members to review the working of Trust’s school, Sarojini Bal Vidyalaya. Met teachers and students and discussed progress and problems.

Trust had earlier announced opening of a College, Sukhdeo Sahay Madheshwar Sahay Degree College at Tarhasi in the current session itself. He examined the existing building of the Trust in its main compound where the college is to start and function till a full fledged new college building is constructed by the Trust and gave necessary direction to the staff.

Community College

On 19th June, Dr. Sahay and Shri Vinod Kumar Sahay, Vice Chairmen went to see the building of Sri Kartik Oraon in Ratu (Ranchi) where Trust is in the process of starting a Community College under IGNOU’s scheme. Necessary suggestions were given to the In-Charge.

Trust’s College

To expedite the completion of essential work required before college can be started, Dr. Sahay alongwith Sri Sunil Kumar Sahay, Trustee again went to Tarhasi on 27th June.

On 29th June, 2010, the Dr. Sahay alongwith Shri V.K. Sahay, Vice Chairman and others went to Tarhasi. After visiting the proposed site of college’s new building in adjacent Mukundpur village near Tarhasi, all assembled in the Trust’s main campus where already many people had assembled in front of the would be college’s lawn. They comprised of teaching staff of college and school, students, villagers of many villages and guests. Shri Madan Mishra of Tarhasi presided the function.

While welcoming and thanking one and all the Chairman, Dr. Sahay formally declared that the Nilambar Pitambar University, Medininagar have given their approval for affiliation of our Sukhdeo Sahay Madheswar Sahay Degree College at Tarhasi. The State Government’s approval will come in due course. All rejoiced it with clappings expressing their happiness. Shri V.K. Sahay, Shri Madan Mishra and other guests expressed their feelings and even requested others to propagate this news so that people can make full use of college. This has been a long felt need and will be more beneficial for girl students.

Distribution of Scholarship:-

As in earlier years, the award of IBS scholarship was continued to be done by Sarvjanik Chitragupta Puja Samiti, Daltonganj. Process involved as usual was inviting relevant applications and processing by Committee. Shri Sunil Kumar Sahay, Trustee had directly provided the fund, Rs. 12000/- for two scholarships of Rs. 6000/- each to the Samiti.

On examination by the Foundation, certain flaws were noticed in the process, hence a decision was taken to discontinue it here and shift it to Tarhasi only for schools of Tarhassi Block from year 2011.

2009-10
Scholarships:-

Scholarship amount of Rs. 18,000/- was distributed to three eligible students @Rs.6000/- each at, Medini Nagar.

Launch of a Degree College at Tarhasi

Sometimes back at a function and amongst the gathering of villagers etc. patron,trustee cum patron,Sh.Subodh Kant Sahai had promised a College in Tarhasi.

Keeping in view the long felt need of the area and promise made on 4th March,2010.Chairman Dr. K.K.Sahay and Smt.Sushila Sahay w/o LateSh.Madheshwar Sahay together formally started a College at Tarhasi with full religious rituals in the trust premises named as "Sukhdeo Sahay Madheshwar Sahay Degree College".The function was attended by large number of villagers of many villages and almost all trustees together with their families.While the admissions were open that day itself, the actual session would start from July 2010.Participants particularly the villagers were rejoiced and voiced that this facility would be very beneficial for all and specially a boon for the girl students of the area.

School for poor children:-

On 1st March, 2010 almost free Primary School for boys and girls, named as Sarojini Sahay Bal Vidyalaya was inaugurated jointly by Chairman, Dr. K. K. Sahay and Trustee cum Union Minister of Food Processing, Govt. of India, Shri Subodh Kant Sahai at Tarhasi, Palamau (Jharkhand) within the premises of Foundation. Nearly 130 boys and girls students were on rolls. They were provided with free school dresses, shoes, etc. in a function where all the Trustees and their families and many villagers as well officials were present.

General Medical cum Cataract Eye Camp

On 04/03/2010 a general medical cum cataract eye camp was organized at Village Tarhasi District Palamau (Jharkhand) with the help of a team of 4 Doctors, two mobile Vans and support staff. Large number of patients and villagers participated in the camp. Total patients examined, medicated, operated are given below.

A. General Medical Patients checked and need based medicines given:
  1. Males – 157
  2. Females-173
  3. Total -330 from 58 villages.
B. Cataract Eye Patients checked up
  1. Males-127
  2. Females-118
  3. Total-245 from 60 villages.

No. of Cases Identified for Cataract Operation – 49

C. Cataract Eye Patients Operated at Medini Nagar

Out of 49 Identified Patients only 39 agreed for operation who were brought from Tarhasi on 05-03-2010 to Medini Nagar, comfortably kept in Govind Samrik Marriage Hall and admitted in Prakash Chand Jain Seva Sadan, Medini Nagar on 06-03-2010, got operated successfully by team of two Eye Surgeons and implanted I.O.L. of which:

  1. Males were 21 and
  2. Females were-14

They were got examined again on 07-03-2010 and after providing medicines and dark specs, taken back to Tarhasi.

On 04-03-2010: The Inauguration of earlier announced Sukhdeo Sahay Madheshwar Sahay Degree College at Vill. Tarhasi, Palamau (Jharkhand) within the Foundation Premises was done by Dr. K. K. Sahay, Chairman and Smt. Sushila Sahay wife of Late Shri. Madheshwar Sahay. Most of the Trustees with their families and large number of villages, local officials, etc. participated in the function. The students section would start from July, 2010 itself.

2008-09
Medical Camp:-

Cataract Eye Screening Camp organized on 03.02.2009 at Primary Health Center, Angara (Ranchi) where 73 patients were screened and 10 were identified for operation, out of which 5 declined and

5 operated on 04.02.2009.

Scholarship amount of Rs. 6000/- each for three students were provided to Shri Chitragupta Pooja Samiti, Daltonganj on our prescribed lines.

2007-08

Three annual scholarships of Rs. 6000/- each were awarded on the usual lines.

Cataract Eye Screening Camp was organized in Ormanjhi, District Ranchi, Jharkhand on 03.11.2007 in which 335 patients were examined.

49 identified patients were admitted same day in Shalini Hospital, village Rukka, Ormanjhi, Ranchi (Under Krishi Gramin Vikas Kendra, Ranchi) and successfully operated and impalnted

I.O.L. on 04.11.07 and discharged on 05.11.07.

2006-07

The number of above scholarships of Rs. 6000/- each provided were increased to three scholarships in same district.

Cataract Eye Screening Camp organized on 23.10.2006 at village Tarhasi in Palamau district where 214 patients were screened and 22 were identified for operation.

15 identified cataract patients were brought from above village (rest did not come) to Daltonganj and successfully operated and implanted IOL on 19.11.06 at Prakash Chand Seva Sadan, housed separately and discharged as well as dropped back next day.

From 1997-98 to 2004-06

Every year provided one scholarship each of Rs. 6000/- to one boy and one girl in Palamau district of Jharkhand State selected from applicants having highest marks in ICSE/CBSE/JSEB.

Donors are eligible for 50 per cent rebate on donated funds in terms of exemption accorded to the Foundation by Director of Income Tax (E), New Delhi u/s 80G (5) (vi) of the Income Tax Act, 1961.
